Vanessa & Cache :: 7-6-2013 :: Wedding in Mission Viejo
Vanessa and Cache are one of the most fun and delightful couples we have ever worked with! We began the day at Vanessa's parents' house in Aliso Viejo where Vanessa and her maid of honor Sarah were getting ready. Vanessa's dog Cloudy was also enjoying being part of the getting ready festivities by watching intently as Vanessa was getting her hair and makeup done. After everyone was ready, we headed over to the Norman P. Murray Community Center in Mission Viejo where the wedding would be held. We took photos of the groomsmen and bridesmaids separately, and boy did the groomsmen have fun with their photos! During their short but incredibly sweet ceremony, Vanessa and Cache incorporated the Scottish tradition of the Oathing Stone, which the couple held while reciting their vows to one another. The tradition states that by holding the stone during the vows, they are cementing their words into the stone. Very sweet! After the ceremony, while the guests enjoyed the live Mariachi band, we took some more photos with family members and the bridal party. The ceremony and reception spaces were beautifully decorated with bright colors, paper flowers (all hand-made by Vanessa and her family!) and beautiful papel picado banners, including one that had the bride and groom's names and date! After the first dance, speeches and dinner, the reception was moved inside to continue with the money dance, garter/bouquet toss and cake cutting. Inside there was a beautiful day-of-the-dead themed wedding cake. Vanessa and Cache share with us a love of polaroids, and we took the most polaroids we had ever taken at a wedding throughout the entire day. Thanks again to the wonderful Allison Oh for accompanying us as third shooter and occasional polaroid photographer. Vanessa and Cache's wedding was full of the same vibrancy and joy that I see in their love for one another, and it was such a pleasure to be a part of their day!
