Katelyn & Mark :::: Engagement Session at Carbon Canyon Regional Park

Katelyn and Mark are one of those couples where you know immediately that they are perfect together! I first met Katelyn in 2011 when we shot a wedding together and near when she had first started dating Mark. I loved getting to know her while shooting the wedding together and we kept in touch over the years. When Mark moved to England last year to continue his schooling, these two spent much time Skyping and texting over the long distance. Over Christmas break in 2013, Katelyn came to England to visit and Mark and he surprised her with a beautiful ring and that most important question! She of course said yes!! I am so excited to be a part of their day by designing their invitations and taking their engagement photos. We met at one of my favorite places, Carbon Canyon Regional in Brea. These two brought their fur baby Polaris who was such a sweetie, posing ever so well for photos. Our session started out with rustic, casual outfits and ended in the sunset with more formal, elegant attire. These two will have a family member shoot their wedding so we are so excited to attend as guests :)

Gordon + Hank :: 4/8/23 :: Wedding in Pioneer Town

G+H had the most magical day in the most magical of places— Rimrock Ranch in Pioneer Town, Yucca Valley! The weather was literally perfect and every detail was thoughtful and intentional and executed flawlessly by Katie at Best Day Ever Events! We started with the two grooms taking photo all over the property and even with one of the horses, Ranger. Next, it was time for guest arrival and ceremony where their guests were first greeted by singing from one of their favorite performers, Leslie Page. As the guests began to sample cocktails from Your Little Local and take their seats, each guest was given a red, woven bracelet. Once everyone was seated, the officiant Lori Kahn explained that the grooms wished their guests to infuse their love and positive energy into their bracelets and place them on their wrists. Melissa & Peter :: 11-11-17 :: Wedding in Irvine

Melissa and Peter are such sweeties! We started out their warm sunny wedding day at the Embassy Suites in Santa Ana,  where Melissa got ready with her bridesmaids. After a few fun shots in their robes and everyone was dressed ready to go, Melissa's bestie helped her get into her gorgeous dress, veil and garter. Next, we headed to their venue, the Eureka Building in Irvine where  the bridal party took some photos, being careful to keep bride and groom separate from one another. We also did a first look with Melissa and her dad and a "not" first look with Melissa and Peter, both were so fun and sweet! After those portraits were done, it was ceremony time filled with a sweet and emotional first look, personal vows and three cord braiding ceremony.  Once these two were officially Mr. and Mrs. we spent some time doing family photos, bridal party photos and portraits of the newlyweds in the setting sun.
