Dani & Wayne :: 8-1-2014 :: Wedding in Laguna Beach

Dani and Wayne emailed me near the end of July with a special request: they needed to plan and have a wedding within a month! These two were already planning to get married at some point in the near future, but when there were complications with her work visa, Dani and Wayne needed to push up their wedding to as soon as possible. After talking and unofficially booking with us, they needed to find a venue, attire, flowers, and decorations, and invite guests, all within two weeks! After scouting around one of their favorite cities, Laguna Beach, they discovered the beautiful Crescent Bay Point Park up on a cliff overlooking the ocean and for their reception they booked the delicious Avila's Restaurant in Corona Del Mar. Once they had a date, they booked us and worked on decorations, flowers, and attire in their purple color theme. Purple was Wayne's grandmother's favorite color, so their color choice was an homage to her memory. Their ceremony was in the early afternoon so that Dani's family in Germany could view the wedding via a tablet on a tripod. After the video link was set up they were ready to go. After readings, traditional vows and personal vows, these two were officially hitched! One of our favorite parts was when the newlyweds waved to the family in Germany! Oh the wonders of technology! :D After the ceremony, we gathered everyone at the wedding for a group picture and a few pictures of the new Mr. and Mrs. Dunn, and then we headed off to the reception. While everyone was enjoying their meal at the restaurant, Wayne recognized one of the restaurant patrons as Bill Gross, a well-known financial manager and author. After talking a while and getting congratulated on his marriage, Wayne returned to the party. Everyone was later delightfully surprised to hear that Mr. Gross had picked up the tab for the entire reception! What a wonderful gift! After enjoying some delicious cupcakes and time spent socializing with their guests, Dani and Wayne went with us back to Laguna Beach to take some more portraits in the setting sun. We love this sweet and fun couple and their wedding and we are so glad we could be a part of it!

Gordon + Hank :: 4/8/23 :: Wedding in Pioneer Town

G+H had the most magical day in the most magical of places— Rimrock Ranch in Pioneer Town, Yucca Valley! The weather was literally perfect and every detail was thoughtful and intentional and executed flawlessly by Katie at Best Day Ever Events! We started with the two grooms taking photo all over the property and even with one of the horses, Ranger. Next, it was time for guest arrival and ceremony where their guests were first greeted by singing from one of their favorite performers, Leslie Page. As the guests began to sample cocktails from Your Little Local and take their seats, each guest was given a red, woven bracelet. Once everyone was seated, the officiant Lori Kahn explained that the grooms wished their guests to infuse their love and positive energy into their bracelets and place them on their wrists. Melissa & Peter :: 11-11-17 :: Wedding in Irvine

Melissa and Peter are such sweeties! We started out their warm sunny wedding day at the Embassy Suites in Santa Ana,  where Melissa got ready with her bridesmaids. After a few fun shots in their robes and everyone was dressed ready to go, Melissa's bestie helped her get into her gorgeous dress, veil and garter. Next, we headed to their venue, the Eureka Building in Irvine where  the bridal party took some photos, being careful to keep bride and groom separate from one another. We also did a first look with Melissa and her dad and a "not" first look with Melissa and Peter, both were so fun and sweet! After those portraits were done, it was ceremony time filled with a sweet and emotional first look, personal vows and three cord braiding ceremony.  Once these two were officially Mr. and Mrs. we spent some time doing family photos, bridal party photos and portraits of the newlyweds in the setting sun.
