Sherry & Ryan :: Anniversary Session :: Year Four

We always have such a great time with Sherry and Ryan! These two will always have a special place in our hearts since they were our first ever real wedding back in 2011! I was so excited when Sherry told me she wanted to do an anniversary shoot wearing her wedding dress again and we had a fabulous time celebrating 4 years of marriage and 10 years of being together! For the styling of their shoot, I was inspired by the spring season and Sherry’s desire to shoot in the redwood grove up in Carbon Canyon Regional Park. This is the only redwood grove in Southern California and we were so excited to have the spring flowers and redwoods as a beautiful setting for our session. I designed and styled her flower crown and bouquet to match, incorporating Sherry’s love for succulents into the floral design. We also incorporated some other lovely props including a paper tassel banner from GenWoo on Etsy, a chalkboard designed by us celebrating their 10 years, marquee & sign, scrabble tiles on wood slice and with wedding rings and of course the always fun polaroids! I love that these two share so much fun and joy with one another and they are such a delight to be around :)

(Today also just happens to be their exact 10 year anniversary! So exciting!!!)

Gordon + Hank :: 4/8/23 :: Wedding in Pioneer Town

G+H had the most magical day in the most magical of places— Rimrock Ranch in Pioneer Town, Yucca Valley! The weather was literally perfect and every detail was thoughtful and intentional and executed flawlessly by Katie at Best Day Ever Events! We started with the two grooms taking photo all over the property and even with one of the horses, Ranger. Next, it was time for guest arrival and ceremony where their guests were first greeted by singing from one of their favorite performers, Leslie Page. As the guests began to sample cocktails from Your Little Local and take their seats, each guest was given a red, woven bracelet. Once everyone was seated, the officiant Lori Kahn explained that the grooms wished their guests to infuse their love and positive energy into their bracelets and place them on their wrists. Melissa & Peter :: 11-11-17 :: Wedding in Irvine

Melissa and Peter are such sweeties! We started out their warm sunny wedding day at the Embassy Suites in Santa Ana,  where Melissa got ready with her bridesmaids. After a few fun shots in their robes and everyone was dressed ready to go, Melissa's bestie helped her get into her gorgeous dress, veil and garter. Next, we headed to their venue, the Eureka Building in Irvine where  the bridal party took some photos, being careful to keep bride and groom separate from one another. We also did a first look with Melissa and her dad and a "not" first look with Melissa and Peter, both were so fun and sweet! After those portraits were done, it was ceremony time filled with a sweet and emotional first look, personal vows and three cord braiding ceremony.  Once these two were officially Mr. and Mrs. we spent some time doing family photos, bridal party photos and portraits of the newlyweds in the setting sun.
