Lilian & Alex :: 6-13-2015 :: Wedding in Mt. Baldy
What a special day this was! Lilian and Alex wanted a woodsy-rustic type location where they could experience and infuse their love of nature on their special day and they happened upon the beautiful Mt. Baldy Village Church in the mountains of So-Cal! This beautiful and intimate church only seats about 75 but not even that was needed as Lilian and Alex only had about 30 of their closest family and friends in attendance :) Everything and I do mean everything was DIY'ed or purchased on Etsy by the bride which added even more to the intimate, handmade and gorgeous details of the day! The only things not made or purchased by the bride were the invitations, bouquets, boutonnieres and bridal head piece, all which I designed and made for them! I was so pleasantly surprised when we arrived and saw that our floral designs matched so closely not only with their vision, but also exactly to the types of flowers they had for the rest of the decor. Amazing! :D Adding also to the woodsy feel of the day were the ladybugs! The June
season in Mt. Baldy is when there are large groups of lady-bugs swarming
around which was both sweet as they would land on everyone and
everything and annoying as they would land on everyone and everything :D Because everything was so DIY, Alex spent much of the getting ready process preparing all the decorations and set-up, making sure everything was just right for his bride. Once it was time for the ceremony, everyone was serenaded by a string trio who stayed throughout their entire wedding and reception. It was an element that was very important to Lilian and Alex and it added such a wonderful relaxed and elegant soundtrack to their day. As part of their ceremony and in addition to their vows, these two incorporated the Celtic tradition of the Hand Fasting Ceremony - where we get the term "tie the knot!" After these two were officially husband and wife, we took a few family shots and then headed to the reception where these two enjoyed the food (catered by the amazing Crepes Bonaparte!), the company and the music. The only formal reception events were a few toasts by the best man and father of the bride and the cutting of the tart (which was more for photos than eating!). After the reception was winding down, we snuck away the newlyweds for some portraits and some time to just be together. This was such a gorgeous day and we are so honored to have been a part of it in so many unique and wonderful ways!
