Jessica & Chris :: 6-11-2016 :: Wedding in West Covina

This day was so much fun!! Jessica and Chris got married on a rainy-turned-to-cloudy June day at Hurst Ranch, a hidden gem in West Covina! They really meshed their country/rustic theme easily with this farm-like location! Their colors were neutrals and wildflower bright colors, and they had touches of sunflowers throughout the day, an homage to the flower of Chris' home state, Kansas. Our day began with some detail and getting ready shots at a nearby hotel. After everyone was made up, we traveled over to the venue where Jessica got dressed and we did some photos with the bridal party before the ceremony. At one point,  Jessica and Chris snuck over to a quiet place for a "not first look" where they talked and laughed together without seeing each other before the ceremony to calm some nerves. It was such a sweet moment :) The ceremony followed shortly after and was filled with prayer, scripture, vows and a very sweet first look! Family and bridal party portraits followed the ceremony and we were sure to take photos at Jessica's favorite location at the venue, the corn crops! Next it was time for them to be announced at their reception as the newly minted Mr. and Mrs. Adams! The reception decor featured bright centerpieces, wood slices, beautiful cake on a cart and our favorite-----the cookie bar with homemade cookies! Upon entering their reception, the couple were serenaded by mariachi and enjoyed a delicious dinner.  When night fell, the newlyweds did the first dance, dances with parents and everyone danced the night away in-between the garter and bouquet tosses and the cake cutting. We snuck the newlyweds away for some epic end of the night shots under an arch and the water tower on the property. This was such a splendid day celebrating such a beautiful and loving couple----what a great way to start the summer!

Gordon + Hank :: 4/8/23 :: Wedding in Pioneer Town

G+H had the most magical day in the most magical of places— Rimrock Ranch in Pioneer Town, Yucca Valley! The weather was literally perfect and every detail was thoughtful and intentional and executed flawlessly by Katie at Best Day Ever Events! We started with the two grooms taking photo all over the property and even with one of the horses, Ranger. Next, it was time for guest arrival and ceremony where their guests were first greeted by singing from one of their favorite performers, Leslie Page. As the guests began to sample cocktails from Your Little Local and take their seats, each guest was given a red, woven bracelet. Once everyone was seated, the officiant Lori Kahn explained that the grooms wished their guests to infuse their love and positive energy into their bracelets and place them on their wrists. Melissa & Peter :: 11-11-17 :: Wedding in Irvine

Melissa and Peter are such sweeties! We started out their warm sunny wedding day at the Embassy Suites in Santa Ana,  where Melissa got ready with her bridesmaids. After a few fun shots in their robes and everyone was dressed ready to go, Melissa's bestie helped her get into her gorgeous dress, veil and garter. Next, we headed to their venue, the Eureka Building in Irvine where  the bridal party took some photos, being careful to keep bride and groom separate from one another. We also did a first look with Melissa and her dad and a "not" first look with Melissa and Peter, both were so fun and sweet! After those portraits were done, it was ceremony time filled with a sweet and emotional first look, personal vows and three cord braiding ceremony.  Once these two were officially Mr. and Mrs. we spent some time doing family photos, bridal party photos and portraits of the newlyweds in the setting sun.
