Kailey & Øyvind :: 11-13-2016 :: Wedding in Pomona

These two have such a unique story: they met online through their mutual devotion to heavy metal music and began a long distance relationship between Southern California and Norway, the rest as they say, is history. Kailey & Øyvind have been through a lot together and despite the distance and illnesses, they came through hardships that would break most couples even stronger than ever. Their personal lives and their mutual loves heavily influenced every aspect of their wedding from the decor, to attire to their wedding rings. Bright and soft pinks mixed with Viking elements mixed with skulls and heavy metal influences were combined together and they meshed so well, echoing how these two from such different backgrounds came together so perfectly. They got married on a cool but sunny day at the amazing and historical Kellogg House in on Cal Poly Pomona's campus. The Kellogg House is the house of the Kelloggs of cereal fame so naturally it was stunningly beautiful and perfect for events! We started out our day documenting some details and Kailey's girls helping her get dressed. Our original plan was to do a first look but as the schedule fell behind and guests began to arrive we realized that ultimately it would be more meaningful to have Kailey and Øyvind's first look as she walked down the aisle. They had an emotional ceremony with personal and traditional vows and they were so excited to finally be husband and wife. Family, bridal party, and newlyweds portraits soon followed featuring the gorgeous grounds of the Kellogg House and an amazing vintage car that added an fun vintage flair to the photos. After Øyvind changed from his traditional attire to a dapper tux, the couple entered their reception for their first dance, toasts, dinner, cake cutting and dancing. We stole the couple away for a few end of the night shots including a getaway moment in the vintage car. This day was so much fun and it was such a pleasure to document Kailey and Øyvind's beautiful love story.

Gordon + Hank :: 4/8/23 :: Wedding in Pioneer Town

G+H had the most magical day in the most magical of places— Rimrock Ranch in Pioneer Town, Yucca Valley! The weather was literally perfect and every detail was thoughtful and intentional and executed flawlessly by Katie at Best Day Ever Events! We started with the two grooms taking photo all over the property and even with one of the horses, Ranger. Next, it was time for guest arrival and ceremony where their guests were first greeted by singing from one of their favorite performers, Leslie Page. As the guests began to sample cocktails from Your Little Local and take their seats, each guest was given a red, woven bracelet. Once everyone was seated, the officiant Lori Kahn explained that the grooms wished their guests to infuse their love and positive energy into their bracelets and place them on their wrists. Melissa & Peter :: 11-11-17 :: Wedding in Irvine

Melissa and Peter are such sweeties! We started out their warm sunny wedding day at the Embassy Suites in Santa Ana,  where Melissa got ready with her bridesmaids. After a few fun shots in their robes and everyone was dressed ready to go, Melissa's bestie helped her get into her gorgeous dress, veil and garter. Next, we headed to their venue, the Eureka Building in Irvine where  the bridal party took some photos, being careful to keep bride and groom separate from one another. We also did a first look with Melissa and her dad and a "not" first look with Melissa and Peter, both were so fun and sweet! After those portraits were done, it was ceremony time filled with a sweet and emotional first look, personal vows and three cord braiding ceremony.  Once these two were officially Mr. and Mrs. we spent some time doing family photos, bridal party photos and portraits of the newlyweds in the setting sun.
