Megan & Sam :: 5-19-18 :: Wedding at Pomona Colleges in Claremont
Megan and Sam had such an unconventional wedding day in so many ways! First off, these two got married before their wedding day in a private ceremony with just their family, so they had already seen each other in their wedding best! When we met up on their cloudy wedding day at Pomona College, we started off our time together jumping into portraits with their small bridal party (their brother and sister) and then took portraits of the newlyweds all over the campuses. We went to spots that were both beautiful and meaningful to them as a couple including the Math Department which featured an amazing outdoor classroom! These two met at a Math Department social gathering back in their undergrad days at Pomona College, so it was especially meaningful for them to take wedding portraits where they had spend many of their foundational years together :) After their newlywed portraits were complete, we did some family photos and then prepared for their ceremony. Since these two were already legally married, they took the opportunity to craft a very non-traditional ceremony for their guest to witness featuring their bridal party as “officiants,” words of wisdom from Sam’s parents, a series of blessings and kind words spoken over them by their closest family and friends, and personalized back and forth vows which were mixed in with traditional elements like the ring exchange and of course, the first kiss. Their epic bubble exit followed and then these two spent time socializing with their guests at cocktail hour. Their reception was filled with kind toasts, table visits and socializing, cake cutting and a first dance after which the party really got started on the dance floor. We loved every single moments of their beautiful and unique wedding day and really felt like we got to know their family and friends through their kindness and fun atmosphere :) Lots of love to these two!
