Scarlett & Danny :: 12-13-14 :: Wedding in Long Beach

Scarlett and Danny's day was so fun and unique in so many ways! When they were planning wedding dates over a year ago, they happened to land on December 13 not realizing that the full date, 12-13-14, would be that last time we would have a sequential date in a long time! A lot of things were done non-traditionally: they used the AppyCouple App/Website to send out their "invitations," the bride wore a pink dress, the flower girls were teenagers, we took bridal party photos in a coffee shop (complete with bets being places on an epic arm wrestling battle) and these two said their vows after dark in an indoor evening ceremony. We had such a great time photographing around their amazing venue, The Ebell in Long Beach and all around the surrounding areas including back alleys and the aforementioned coffee shop, Lord Windsor. The venue has an amazing bridal suite where Scarlett and her girls got ready and once Scarlett got into her dress, she was so excited, all she wanted to do was twirl! It was so awesome! Scarlett and her girls got into some shenanigans while getting ready and we were all laughing hysterically while we were taking some of these shots! :) After Scarlett and Danny had their first look we took their bridal party photos, some with one of the many amazing vintage-style couches that The Ebell have available for their couples. After family portraits we explored the exteriors of The Ebell with Scarlett and Danny taking some time to relax and enjoy taking some romantic couples shots. I even made another chalkboard sign, echoing the one I made for their engagement session, and I was so excited to take pictures of it! Once the sun had set there was some downtime before the ceremony and Scarlett took advantage of the time to quickly change out of her dress and have a little cat-nap so she could party late into the night! The ceremony was short and sweet and included a hilarious moment where Scarlett vowed to love Danny, "for richer, or richer" and the room echoed with the sound of over 100 guests laughing hysterically :D The reception was followed by cocktail hour (where the bride and groom got to enjoy time with their guests as portraits were all done!) which was then followed by the reception. It was such a wonderful day and we are so honored to have been a part of it! :)
