Kathryn & Scott :: 3-13-15 :: Wedding in Azusa

What a beautiful day Kathryn and Scott had! So much of the decor and details of this day was DIYed by the couple and a large number of things were actually hand-made by the groom! Scott loves woodworking so his love and talents were showcased through so many beautiful elements throughout the day! He made all the signs, the gorgeous ring box, guestbook, advice box, lawn games, table numbers, Mr. and Mrs. table signs and the cake stand! Simply amazing :) These two got married at the beautiful Historic Lindley-Scott House in Azusa and we started off their day documenting some details of getting ready and Kathryn and Scott sending and receiving gifts from one another. Kathryn received a beautiful bracelet from her groom and a video was taken of Scott receiving his gift of a watch which Kathryn loved being able to watch before getting dressed! After everyone was dressed and the bridesmaids took a photo with signs made by the bride, we did a "not" first look with Kathryn and Scott. In other words, they held hands around a corner in the home and shared a few sweet moments, without seeing each other, to calm the nerves before the ceremony began.  Kathryn was escorted down the isle by her father and step father and Scott's reaction to seeing her for the first time was so tender and sweet. Their officiant was the pilot who flew Kathryn and Scott over the beach in Laguna for their proposal! Scott had cut out giant wood letter spelling, "Marry Me" and as Kathryn was looking out the window, he presented her with her ring! So sweet! Their pilot officiant had a wonderful time re-telling the story and didn't forget to add the part where Scott was so nervous during the test flight earlier in the day that he had left his keys in the car with the engine running! Whoops! :) After some laughs, tender vows and being finally pronounced Mr. and Mrs. we had a great time with their bridal party taking some fun photos. Scott gave his groomsmen personalized knives for their gifts so of course the boys had to take some fun knife shots :) As the sun was setting we spent some time taking portraits of the new Mr. and Mrs. Wallick, including some shots with the custom chalkboard I made for them with their wedding hashtag :) The reception was held at the Lindley-Scott House's carriage barn where the couple had created lawn games and a video guestbook where guests could record messages for the bride and groom. After being announced, the couple were toasted by their bridal party and dinner was served. Scott gave a special and emotional toast to his family and grandfather who had recently passed away. He also put together a slideshow of photos and everyone enjoyed seeing photos of these two as youngsters and then together as a couple. First dances were followed by bouquet/garter tosses, cake cutting and more fun dancing on into the night :)

We loved working with these two on their invitations and photos and we wish them many years of joy!
