Leesha & Russell :: Day-After Session :: Victoria Beach, Laguna Beach

As part of their uh-mazing Disney wedding, Leesha and Russell did a morning-after-the-wedding shoot in Disneyland before the park opened! While the plan was for us to be a part of that shoot, Disney only allows their photographers to photograph those shoots, but Leesha and Russell still wanted to do a day-after shoot with us! In considering locations and themes now that we no longer could do the shoot with them inside Disneyland, we decided to combine their Tangled themed wedding with their wedding colors, their love for Disney and Harry Potter and do the shoot at Victoria Beach in Laguna Beach! This beach features an old, Victorian lighthouse type structure, built in 1926 and has a spiral staircase with access to the beach from the residence above. So magical! We set the scene and styled/created the florals and props with the help of paper flowers made from Harry Potter book pages, a laser cut golden snitch and the newlywed's own wands and champagne. We set up a beach and Harry Potter inspired elegant picnic on the beach with books, vintage luggage (for the trip to Hogwarts of course!), macarons with quiddich goals, potion bottles and hand painted details. All the hand painted details were inspired by the ocean setting and the soft palette of the session. Despite it being early in the morning, these two are troopers and had a blast taking some more elegant and romantic shots. We LOVE designing and photographing these day-after sessions and hope to do more in the future!

Gordon + Hank :: 4/8/23 :: Wedding in Pioneer Town

G+H had the most magical day in the most magical of places— Rimrock Ranch in Pioneer Town, Yucca Valley! The weather was literally perfect and every detail was thoughtful and intentional and executed flawlessly by Katie at Best Day Ever Events! We started with the two grooms taking photo all over the property and even with one of the horses, Ranger. Next, it was time for guest arrival and ceremony where their guests were first greeted by singing from one of their favorite performers, Leslie Page. As the guests began to sample cocktails from Your Little Local and take their seats, each guest was given a red, woven bracelet. Once everyone was seated, the officiant Lori Kahn explained that the grooms wished their guests to infuse their love and positive energy into their bracelets and place them on their wrists. Melissa & Peter :: 11-11-17 :: Wedding in Irvine

Melissa and Peter are such sweeties! We started out their warm sunny wedding day at the Embassy Suites in Santa Ana,  where Melissa got ready with her bridesmaids. After a few fun shots in their robes and everyone was dressed ready to go, Melissa's bestie helped her get into her gorgeous dress, veil and garter. Next, we headed to their venue, the Eureka Building in Irvine where  the bridal party took some photos, being careful to keep bride and groom separate from one another. We also did a first look with Melissa and her dad and a "not" first look with Melissa and Peter, both were so fun and sweet! After those portraits were done, it was ceremony time filled with a sweet and emotional first look, personal vows and three cord braiding ceremony.  Once these two were officially Mr. and Mrs. we spent some time doing family photos, bridal party photos and portraits of the newlyweds in the setting sun.
