Louise + Chris :: 12/18/21 :: Wedding in San Diego

These two are literally the cutest! We met these two because Louise entered a giveaway we did last year for micro weddings! Here is more about them in her own words and one of the reasons I picked them as winners:

"Chris and I met in Oakland on Tinder! At the time we were both just looking for something casual and fun (hence our Thursday night date) but after meeting each other for the first time sparks just went off! We met at a local bar (he drove all the way across the Bay bridge) shared chili cheese fries, listened to Tom Petty, talked about politics, and all the crazy things we had in common! We both grew up in San Diego, our parents were both Doctors, we both studied International Relations & even had the same personality types (ENFPs). One thing led to another and we just couldn’t stop hanging out with each other.

Fast forward to 3+ years and here we are getting married! Chris got into medical school in Virginia and we shipped all of our 1BR Oakland apartment belongings and road tripped with our 2 kitties in COVID across country...we also got engaged in Napa in the middle of the pandemic. It’s been challenging celebrating all of these accomplishments with COVID and especially not being able to say goodbye to our friends and families before we left ...buttt that’s where we’re hoping to celebrate these past couple of years at our wedding! We now live in Virginia - I just found out I got into Business School here with a full ride scholarship so we’re planning this wedding around both of our busy but exciting school schedules.

I guess we’ve both become such nerds along the way - but the biggest thing we love and grounds us is just being able to spend more time together in this pandemic. We love cooking and just building a life with each other. We’re an inter racial couple and always love sharing our childhood memories and talking about what traditions and customs we want to share with our future kids.

We recently bought a house out here (yes - I guess we’re those folks who just love adding things to our plates) but our hearts are always in California with our friends and families. Which is why this wedding back home for us means so much!"

Their day was super small and special with only 22 people in attendance (including us!). We started their day with some details and getting ready as always-- Louise's room had the most incredible balcony looking out over the golf course at Rancho Bernardo Inn, so we did many pictures out in the natural light of the balcony! Next these two shared the sweetest first look and we went all around the property taking photos of these two lovebirds in the golden December light. Family + guest photos followed at the ceremony site and then these two exchanged vows underneath the arch that Chris and Louise's dad built and decorated in the days before the wedding. After the ceremony, the newlyweds enjoyed some cocktail hour snacks and then we whisked them away for a few more golden hour portraits before their private dinner reception. It was such an honor to capture this intimate day, small weddings are quickly becoming our favorite! Congratulations to Louise and Chris, our last wedding of 2021!
