Carolyn & Andrew :: 8-4-2013 :: Wedding in Long Beach

Carolyn and Andrew had such a beautiful wedding day! Their venue was the gorgeous Sky Room, which has an elegant chapel on the lower level and a beautiful art-deco themed restaurant all the way at the top of a high-rise in downtown Long Beach. Before the ceremony began, Carolyn and Andrew got ready in separate rooms just feet away from one another, and they were both very eagerly anticipating the celebrations as they made their last minute preparations. Their ceremony was filled with joyful smiles, traditional vows and poetry readings. Right after the ceremony, we took family and bridal party photos in the chapel, and then we headed outside with Carolyn and Andrew to get some more pictures. The Disney-loving newlyweds wore their Mickey ears and excitedly talked about their upcoming honeymoon to Disney World in Orlando. Next we were taken on an elevator ride to the Sky Room restaurant, where the guests were enjoying the beginning of cocktail hour with a live band. Carolyn and Andrew spent the first part of the reception greeting every single one of their guests, as all of their family and guests were from out of town - Andrew is from England, and Carolyn is from New Jersey! After the first dance, the toasts, cutting the delicious cake and some more socializing, the party really got started with Carolyn's brother as the DJ. We also brought along some polaroids to capture some fun images throughout the wedding day, as we did during their engagement shoot. We had such a wonderful time, and they are such a fabulous couple! :)

Gordon + Hank :: 4/8/23 :: Wedding in Pioneer Town

G+H had the most magical day in the most magical of places— Rimrock Ranch in Pioneer Town, Yucca Valley! The weather was literally perfect and every detail was thoughtful and intentional and executed flawlessly by Katie at Best Day Ever Events! We started with the two grooms taking photo all over the property and even with one of the horses, Ranger. Next, it was time for guest arrival and ceremony where their guests were first greeted by singing from one of their favorite performers, Leslie Page. As the guests began to sample cocktails from Your Little Local and take their seats, each guest was given a red, woven bracelet. Once everyone was seated, the officiant Lori Kahn explained that the grooms wished their guests to infuse their love and positive energy into their bracelets and place them on their wrists. Melissa & Peter :: 11-11-17 :: Wedding in Irvine

Melissa and Peter are such sweeties! We started out their warm sunny wedding day at the Embassy Suites in Santa Ana,  where Melissa got ready with her bridesmaids. After a few fun shots in their robes and everyone was dressed ready to go, Melissa's bestie helped her get into her gorgeous dress, veil and garter. Next, we headed to their venue, the Eureka Building in Irvine where  the bridal party took some photos, being careful to keep bride and groom separate from one another. We also did a first look with Melissa and her dad and a "not" first look with Melissa and Peter, both were so fun and sweet! After those portraits were done, it was ceremony time filled with a sweet and emotional first look, personal vows and three cord braiding ceremony.  Once these two were officially Mr. and Mrs. we spent some time doing family photos, bridal party photos and portraits of the newlyweds in the setting sun.
