Janaya & Matt :: Day-After Wedding Session :: Laguna Beach

Janaya and Matt wanted to do a day-after session (with a little trash the dress thrown in there) at the beach like their wedding, but with a slightly different backdrop. So while their wedding was on the flat beach in Long Beach, we visited the rocky beach of Laguna for some different types of backdrops. We didn't have much time on their wedding day to take portraits of the newlyweds (their priority was spending lots of time with their guests) so they wanted to do a separate session for more photos. Such a great idea! They wanted the session to have somewhat of a vintage feel so we incorporated some themed props including a chalkboard sign where I wrote out their names in a beautiful script, a live flower bouquet that I made (I'm a wanna-be florist! ;)) and one of my flower crowns. These two also brought a wonderful paper umbrella and some DIY Mr. and Mrs. canvas signs they decorated with shells. We had such a fun session exploring the beach and getting some more elegant and romantic shots of these two. We LOVE day-after sessions and hope to do more in the future!

Gordon + Hank :: 4/8/23 :: Wedding in Pioneer Town

G+H had the most magical day in the most magical of places— Rimrock Ranch in Pioneer Town, Yucca Valley! The weather was literally perfect and every detail was thoughtful and intentional and executed flawlessly by Katie at Best Day Ever Events! We started with the two grooms taking photo all over the property and even with one of the horses, Ranger. Next, it was time for guest arrival and ceremony where their guests were first greeted by singing from one of their favorite performers, Leslie Page. As the guests began to sample cocktails from Your Little Local and take their seats, each guest was given a red, woven bracelet. Once everyone was seated, the officiant Lori Kahn explained that the grooms wished their guests to infuse their love and positive energy into their bracelets and place them on their wrists. Melissa & Peter :: 11-11-17 :: Wedding in Irvine

Melissa and Peter are such sweeties! We started out their warm sunny wedding day at the Embassy Suites in Santa Ana,  where Melissa got ready with her bridesmaids. After a few fun shots in their robes and everyone was dressed ready to go, Melissa's bestie helped her get into her gorgeous dress, veil and garter. Next, we headed to their venue, the Eureka Building in Irvine where  the bridal party took some photos, being careful to keep bride and groom separate from one another. We also did a first look with Melissa and her dad and a "not" first look with Melissa and Peter, both were so fun and sweet! After those portraits were done, it was ceremony time filled with a sweet and emotional first look, personal vows and three cord braiding ceremony.  Once these two were officially Mr. and Mrs. we spent some time doing family photos, bridal party photos and portraits of the newlyweds in the setting sun.
